My name’s Cameron Scott and I’m the finance manager at North West Agri Finance. So we look after predominantly rural and agri clients.
There’s six people in total that work for the business. Week in, week out we are out on the road seeing our clients. Microsoft Office 365 from Telstra is something we’ve adopted last year. I can’t see how we operated without it to be honest.
Before we had mobile technology it was pretty frustrating. You’d get home from a 500k round trip and then you’re dealing with three hours of administration with an enormous amount of emails.
Office 365 has the features that you have from the desktop version of Microsoft Office and you can use them on your tablet and your mobile.
One of the great features is the ability for our staff to view each other’s calendars and make changes. So an appointment can be made for me and that can be blocked out. So that avoids me making an appointment that duplicates what’s been made back in the office.
What we found really valuable is the ability to access core applications when we’re out with our clients, as if we’re working from the office. So we can be working with the client doing a budget and we can make specific changes in real time on Microsoft Excel and that’s being updated back on the server.
One of the biggest costs that we have is time out of office. So we selected Telstra because of its broader coverage. So our tablets and mobile phones have saved a lot of travel time. That means we come back from a day out of the office we can spend time with the family and kids.
Our dealings with Telstra have been excellent and the ability to take that technology through tablets to our clients has been fantastic. And that’s where we’ve seen a lot of growth from our business.
