Disaster Recovery Testing: Simulated Failover To The Telstra’s Data Centre

A three day failover test where all the ICT operations switched from the Sydney data centre to Melbourne

In 2010 Komatsu was one of the first companies in Australia to shut down the data centre and move all the ICT operations to Telstra Cloud Solution. The environment, supported by the Next IP and Next G networks, was stress tested soon after Komatsu moved to the cloud.

Across Easter in 2011, Komatsu simulated a failover of its Pitt Street data centre in Sydney so all functions switched automatically to Melbourne. The result? Check the full video case study, right here:
