Summary
The role of the Business Development Associate is to work in partnership with Key Account Managers to grow the contract value in the assigned portfolio. The focus is on scheduling key client and partner activities and sales visits. The role presents high exposure to senior executives. You will gain broad exposure to a variety of C-level constituencies, fundamental business concepts, and to leading-edge business practices. This entry level opportunity is a great first step into the fastest growing region in our business and our incubator for future Key Account Managers.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Partner with Key Account Managers to create customized plans to support sales cycle success and drive urgency
- Prospect and make outbound calls to business leads and qualified companies to meet sales goals
- Manage and respond to inbound requests from prospective or current clients
- Educate prospective clients and partners, over the phone, on our market offer
- Ensure clients and partners are leveraging our extensive offerings
- Ensure that Salesforce.com contains accurate account details and contact information for clients and partners
- Support in monitoring flows of business
- Managing pre-appointment information and post-appointment follow up
- Undertaking partner and client analysis to create next marketing campaign
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- Comfortable working with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Visio and other design programs such as Adobe Indesign and Illustrator (preferred)
- Relevant work and/or internship experience in sales highly preferred
- Goal and action orientated, with ability and desire to work towards activity and revenue targets
- High level of comfort with calling clients and determination when following-up (i.e., comfort with and persistence when overcoming member and prospect objections)
- Ability to build relationships with senior level professionals and work well under pressure
- Persistence, drive, and ability to work proactively
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentations skills
- Effective problem solving, time management and organization skills
